Cornwall Artisans Arts and Crafts Directory

Aggie Arts - Arts & Crafts Holidays & Workshops

Offers arts and crafts breaks, courses and workshops in UNESCO world heritage centre St Agnes ('Aggie'), Cornwall. They aim to make sure all of their tutors are highly acclaimed local artists with expertise in tutoring small groups in arts and crafts ranging from photography to watercolours via felt making and freehand machine embroidery. Since they are ideally located to take advantage of a huge range of activities and sites of interest in the local area, their breaks are ideal for singles, small groups or couples, even with 'non-arty' partners who can enjoy the coast or take part in a Cornish pasty making course!

Other lovely things to do during a visit:

A fabulous coastal golf course, amazing walks on the coastal path through the tin mining landscape, fishing, horse riding, tennis and coasteering are a few of the more active options you can build into your Aggie Arts break, or simply sit back and enjoy wonderful food, wine tasting or a brewery tour. With world famous tourist attractions such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Minack Theatre a short drive away there is hopefully something for everyone.

Sleeps and Eats:

Visitors can choose self-catered or bed and breakfast accommodation and they'll do their best to match participant's individual tastes with one of the wide range of cottages or quaint village bed & breakfast rooms they've hand-picked for the stay. A two-course lunch and refreshments are included in full day workshops and they've also partnered with many of the restaurants in the area to provide a chance to taste wonderful local fare at a reduced price. They also offer a Cornish pasty making workshop for the hungry traveller!

When to come along:

Bookings are taken all year round, but with most planned for the 'off-season', participants can take advantage of fewer tourists and the opportunity to get involved in "real" Cornish life. Visitors can enjoy the uninterrupted beauty of the region whilst benefiting from tourist-free restaurants, visitor attractions, and all when the A30 is clear!

Workshop only bookings for those already in or visiting Cornwall A 3-night 'Crafty Cornish Break' which includes accommodation, the workshop and lunch on the first day, or; The 'Bespoke Break Away' where a tailored itinerary can be put together for groups of 5 or more, including any combination of the activities (subject to tutor availability).
